Hello! Welcome to my online diary! Get ready for take-off! We'll soon be cruising at an altitude of just over 5 feet.
Hope you'll post a tag or write a note
in my guestbook!
There is a special young man named Avery who needs your prayers desperately. Avery's parents are from my hometown, and I know of them, but don't know them personally, but I don't care.
Avery was born around 2 months premature, and weighed less than 2 pounds at birth. He has a condition where the veins leading from his heart to his lungs aren't growing, causing his heart to work too hard, and his lungs keep developing pneumonia.
Avery was moved from TN to MI on Thursday morning, and all went well. Thursday night, Avery coded twice and was put in a coma to allow his little 6 month old body time to gain strength for the operation called a vein overlay that they were to do today.
This afternoon, the neocardiologist told Avery's parents, Julie and Tadd, that Avery was not strong enough to make it through the procedure. They even asked them if they wanted to take this precious child off of life support. They have currently refused.
During the next 2 days, Avery will undergo 4 steroid shots and a med change to try to increase his strength, and his possibility of survival. If not, Julie and Tadd may have to make the toughest decision any parent would have to face.
If you could know what this child has done to get to this point, you would realize he is a miracle. Plesae join me and many others around the country, and around the world, in praying that this precious child will get strong enough during the next 2 days that the doctor will do the surgery. This little boy and his family have so touched my heart with their struggle and their determination to keep fighting, how can I not pray and help them fight?
I have more on my life I could post, but I think this is where I should leave this.
Love and hugs,
April
