Hello! Welcome to my online diary! Get ready for take-off! We'll soon be cruising at an altitude of just over 5 feet.
Hope you'll post a tag or write a note
in my guestbook!
Today is the birthday of my favorite CSI-er, George Coleman Eads III. He's 39 today. He is the same age DH was when he and I got married 5 years ago. I'm still a few years younger.
Last night said DH and I went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant with some of our friends from his department. I spent most of the evening making silly sounds and faces at our friend, Kandi's, 7 month old daughter, Tara. Her DH, JD, was working last night (he's a NP), but she was sweet enough to bring him home a carry out. Jen was there. She SO has to find a man. She's not ugly or anything, but she has the worst time with guys, starting with her ex-hubby. So, she depends on mine too much, and it drives me bonkers. Of course, Jeff totally doesn't see it. But darling, if you're reading this, SHE DOES!!!!!!
Yesterday was my Dad's birthday. He turned 67. I called to wish him a happy b-day while we were waiting for everyone to meet us for dinner. He'd been baby sitting my darling nephew, so he had the best present he could have had. My dad has always loved kids. He was almost always there when my sisters and I had ball games and performances. If he wasn't there, there was usually a REALLY good reason.
I just worked my one weekend a month this past weekend. We were SLAMMED! I'm not too thrilled with my job right now. Am actually considering looking for something else. I do kind of want to try and hold out until mid-May, when I can give them my 2-weeks notice, then have around a week to get ready, then head out to South Africa for 2 weeks. Will just have to wait and see how much management ticks me off between now and then.....
Not much else to say. I did watch a lot of the Olympics while it was on. I've always enjoyed them, winter or summer version. Still have to watch the closing ceremonies, which I taped so I could get some sleep. Not only did I have to work this past weekend, it as the EARLY MORNING shift. For those who don't know, I am SO not a morning person!
Oh, and say a prayer for the family of Cpl. Rusty Washam. He was recently killed (Valentine's Day) by a suicide bomber in Iraq. He was 21 and had a wife and 2 small children. He went to high school with my DSD, Haley.
Speaking of Valentine's Day, DH and I went to one of my other favorite restaurants for dinner. No gifts this year. With 2 house payments, dinner was more than enough.
Hugs, y'all!
